Homeschool program is a university model
a la carte menu of course options.
Students in grades 6-12 may enroll in any course offered given that the course has room.
To enroll in High School Acting Methods, a "Dance" or "Music" 2 or higher course you must have instructor approval.
Email info@ovationapa.org to schedule a class placement meeting if requesting admittance into an advanced course. 
Middle and High school Homeschool students will follow the
Full-Immersion schedule August 19-June 4. 
Enrollment is done per semester.

Elementary Homeschool Program
is offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays
Students may select from classes including; Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Hip-Hop, Visual Arts for the Stage, Acting and Musical Theater.
Our Elementary program classes are not separated by skill level and include students from Kindergarten through 5th grade. It is designed to provide an introduction into Conservatory style learning and build foundational techniques as well as provide a social opportunity for homeschooled youth. Lessons are modified by skill within each class by the instructor. If we feel your child is far beyond the level of the class we may suggest moving them to a Middle School level course instead. This move can only be initiated by the instructor and could change the days/times your child would attend. Class sizes will not exceed 15 students.

Enrollment is done per semester. Each Semester is 4 months.

Fall is September 2-December 20.    Spring is January 6-April 30.
We ask that if there is a gap between individual courses being taken that a parent or guardian remain on campus with the child until they are in their class. We do not have staff available to supervise elementary students who are not in a class. We do have a parent waiting area. 
Acting (1.5 hr class)
Students will cover an introduction to characterization, stage directions, performance skills, improvisation and basic theatre terminology. The students will learn through games, scene work and activities which help them develop as young performers and will have a showcase performance at the conclusion of the year.
Musical Theatre (1.5 hr class)
Students will cover an introduction to Musical Theatre history and performance. They will learn about popular and classic productions, artists and material. Students will learn how to work with an ensemble and how to perform in the style of musical theatre. They will present choreographed numbers and directed scenes in a showcase at the conclusion of the year. Some solo work may be given but the goal is to encourage ensemble participation and team work in a musical theatre environment.
Visual Art for the Stage (45 minute class)
The students create art projects such as masks, props, costumes, set designs etc. while learning about the ELEMENTS OF ART: The visual components of color, form, line, shape, space, texture, and value. These may be two-or three-dimensional, descriptive, implied, or abstract. They also will learn make-up and wig design since the teacher next semester is a professional theatrical hair and make-up designer!
Ballet Technique (45 minute class)
The foundation of all dance. Students learn proper posture, body mechanics, flexibility, balance, agility, co-ordination, proper use of the body to execute movement safely and correctly.
Tap Technique (45 minute class)
Students learn rhythm, various tap techniques, footwork, balance, co-ordination, patterns and quick thinking.
Jazz Technique (45 minute class)
Students learn strength, flexibility, turns, jumps and a variety of combinations to upbeat pop music!
Hip Hop (45 minute class)
Popular street dance focusing on movement quality, rhythm and body articulation.
Contemporary (45 minute class)
Learning movement quality, adaptation of music, exploration of creativity and body language.
